Durham Fringe Festival is back and bigger than ever! From 23rd to 27th July 2025, this vibrant celebration of live performance will transform Durham’s city centre into a buzzing hub of creativity, offering over 110 acts and 270+ performances across nine unique venues.
Now in its fifth year, the festival kicks off with a birthday bash on Palace Green at 1pm on Wednesday 23 July – expect cake, party hats, and a free family showcase featuring bite-sized tasters from some of the festival’s most engaging family shows. More showcases follow on Wednesday evening and Friday night – all free, but booking is essential.From theatre, music, dance and comedy, to cabaret, circus, spoken word and magic, there’s truly something for everyone. Standout acts include:

Bottom’s Midsummer Dream – a hilarious, family-friendly twist on Shakespeare

With 23 music acts and several experimental gems, Durham Fringe 2025 promises surprises at every turn. And with all tickets priced at £10 / £7 concession, or 3 for £24 via the ‘Discover Offer’, it’s a fantastic opportunity to dip your toes into something new.
